Current changes to services due to Covid-19 regulations

Changes to number of mourners attending (Update 23.09.2020)

To limit the spread to Covid-19 our local Crematoriums have limited attendance at funerals to only 30 mourners at both Chanterlands (Large Chapel) and Haltemprice Crematoriums. Chanterlands (Small Chapel currently only allows for 12 mourners.


Groups of 6 and Wearing of face coverings.

As per government guidance, it is necessary to ensure that groups of mourners sitting together should make sure they do so in groups of no more than 6. It is also a requirement to wear a face covering during the service unless you have an exception.


We are operating by appointment only

To minimise risk and the spread of covid 19 during this time we are operating by appointment only. Please call to speak to a funeral director 24/7 01482 562762. Our branches are currently being fitted with screens at card terminals for safer payments, we ask that visitors use the hand gel provided and use masks or face coverings when necessary.


Churches and places of worship will be available for funerals

All churches and places of worship have been closed and we have been unable to take services in their buildings. This is changing and updates will appear as information is gathered. Vicars, Priests, Pastors are still available for services.


Curtains might have to  close at the end of services

Some crematoriums have decided that in order to reduce their staff's exposure to Covid-19, the curtains must close at the end of the service.
